- 9 pro hockey championships won by Texas teams, including the Houston Huskies (USHL), Dallas Black Hawks (CPHL/CHL), Houston Aeros (WHA), Amarillo Wranglers (SWHL) and Fort Worth Texans (CHL).
- The 1978 CHL Adams Cup Final series which was an all-Texas affair with the Fort Worth Texans winning their first-ever pro hockey championship by beating the fierce cross-town rival, the Dallas Black Hawks, in an epic seven-game series.
- 11 Hockey Hall of Fame players and five Hockey Hall of Fame Coaches/Managers who were part of a Texas pro hockey team, including Eddie Shore, Gordie Howe, Roger Neilson, Serge Savard, Rogie Vachon and others.
